DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
The Regional Environmental Center is located at Connetquot River State Park Preserve in Oakdale and staff travel to various parks providing programming. Under the general direction and supervision of the Environmental Educator 1 and 2 personnel, the incumbent of this position will be engaged in the performance and coordination of the following duties:
1. Public speaking:
the incumbent will be providing educational programs for age groups ranging from Pre-K through adult; 2. Assist in the planning, organization of quarterly program schedule for public, coordinate and schedule public and private education program schedules; 3. Computer operation:
Microsoft Word to create environmental program support materials; maintaining database information on Excel; create educational PowerPoint presentations; and Access; create quarterly programs brochure proficient in Canva; 4. Laptop and PowerPoint smart board operation for use in educational programming and community presentations; 5. Create content for education and outreach using social media platforms and audio-visual equipment; 6. Engage with local community, schools, and special interest groups; 7. Recording the attendance of programs, festivals, and volunteer events; 8. Care and maintenance of exhibit animals:
incumbent ensure all housing is kept clean and that the requirements necessary for the health of the animals are met. Handling of animals will be required reptiles including snakes, and turtles; various amphibians; raptors); 9. Basic maintenance of buildings & grounds including, but not limited to litter control, grounds upkeep and landscaping, snow and ice control, restroom facilities (supplies/cleanliness), and other tasks and/or activities as described; maintain butterfly garden, composting, and other gardens; 10. Assist with revenue; prepare reports as required; 11. Provide aid to park patrons with questions, resolve complaints or situations requiring first aid; 12. Assist with tasks related to our office as needed.

Salary Range:
From $19.27 to $19.27 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
There are no Civil Service minimum qualifications. Qualifications for each seasonal position are based on operating needs and vary based on the assigned work location and job title. See Operating Needs below.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
